                                            I currently work as an assistant principal responsible for creating the master schedule of the
                                                               school, coordinating state required assessments, overseeing and implementing discipline, and guiding
                                                               the schools “response to intervention” teams. Brady high school is considered an at risk school for its
                                                               population being more that 75% free and reduced serving very diverse students from inner city Denver.

As a special education teacher I am responsible for facilitating and coordinating the learning of students with special needs. My instruction follows the guidelines of the States required curriculum and is designed to fit the individual needs of each one of my students. Providing high structure and productive feedback allows students to maximize their learning. As a case manager I am assigned to manage and plan Individual Education Programs for 15 students. I am also responsible for their academic testing and placement in fulfilling graduation requirements in a timely and effective manner.

In Economics, my students learned various economic theories and how these theories affect their roles in society.  My day to day responsibilities included the creation of lesson plans, curriculum alignment, and ensuring that my students passed state assessments.

Over the course of four months I taught the Self-Sufficiency Workshops to individuals who were struggling professionally, economically, and physically. Currently I am assigned to three adolescents that are in the process of being reunited under the custody of their parents. By providing a relationship of trust, me and the children mutually grow and change our own lives for the better. I serve as an advocate for these individuals to make sure that their needs are being met in a legal and timely manner. I prepare court documents and carry out responsibilities assigned to me by the District Judge.


Youth Mentor Heritage Schools                                October 2005-August 2007

I was assigned to five adolescents that were psychologically diagnosed with depression and other issues that limited their physical and social well being. By visiting with these youth I formed a lasting relationship that continues to provide strength to them as they carry out various life endeavors. These youth learn to cope with their issues and challenge themselves to move forward and not let social obstacles inhibit their progression.
